Dear saints in the Southeast,
When we started the 6th-grade conference, the burden was to have a definite time of fellowship related to salvation with the 6th graders prior to their going to Junior High School, where the tide of the age is much stronger than in elementary. For some time, most elementary schools culminate in 5th grade, and 6th grade is part of middle school. In light of this, for several years we have considered changing from a 6th-grade conference to a 5th-grade conference in order to have specific fellowship on salvation prior to our children going to middle school. After much prayer and fellowship, this is the year we will make that change. This year, the conference will be open to 5th- and 6th-grade young people. Current 5th and 6th graders will join the young people's work in the summer after the 5th–6th grade conference. Next year, the spring conference will be a 5th-grade conference and rising 6th graders will join the young people's work.
