Pray that in their preaching the saints would employ the Lord’s name with His authority as the power of the gospel (Acts 3:6; 4:10-12; Matt. 28:18-19).

Acts 3:6 — But Peter said, Silver and gold I do not possess, but what I have, this I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene rise up and walk.

Acts 4:10-12 — Let it be known to you all and to all the people of Israel that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified and whom God has raised from the dead, in this name this man stands before you in good health. This is the stone which was considered as nothing by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner. And there is salvation in no other, for neither is there another name under heaven given among men in which we must be saved.

Matt. 28:18-19 — And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and disciple all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

When we preach the gospel, we must proclaim the Lord’s name and lead people to call on the Lord’s name. The opposers say that calling on the name of the Lord is an erroneous doctrine. However, in Acts 3 Peter spoke to the lame man who asked for alms at the door of the temple which was called Beautiful and said, “Silver and gold I do not possess, but what I have, this I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene rise up and walk” (v. 6). That man stood up and began to walk. He entered with the apostles into the temple and was walking, leaping, and praising God (v. 8). After this incident the Jewish rulers, elders, and scribes threatened the apostles and “charged them not to utter anything at all nor teach based upon the name of Jesus” (4:18). We need to teach people to call on the name of the Lord, because the Lord’s name is all-powerful, and it is in this name that we are saved (vv. 10, 12).

When we go out to preach the gospel, we should not think that we are small and insignificant. We are not insignificant. In Matthew 28 the Lord Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and disciple all the nations” (vv. 18-19). When we preach the gospel, we represent the authority in heaven and on earth. Our believing this depends on our exercise. We do not need to shout and yell and say to people that we represent an authority. Our faith should confirm this. We do not need to say this to people, but we need to say to the devil, “Satan, you need to know that Jesus Christ has obtained all authority in heaven and on earth; He is the Lord of heaven and earth, and I am His representative.” (CWWL, 1984, vol. 5, “Guidelines for the Propagation of the Lord’s Recovery,” ch. 4, pp. 152-153)

I still have the assurance today that if you call on the name of the Lord for only ten minutes, you will be burning. Young people who are on the campuses, if you are burned like this every morning, you will burn others when you are at school. Once the gospel is spoken or preached, there will be the Spirit…I became clear that in order to exercise the spirit, there is the need of praying, calling on the name of the Lord, and reading the Word. These are the sources of the power of the gospel. (CWWL, 1984, vol. 4, “Rising Up to Preach the Gospel,” ch. 4, pp. 386-387)

For the prayer meeting, we suggest taking the following verses from Week 3, Day 4 of the HWMR of The Christian Life, the Church Life, the Consummation of the Age, and the Coming of the Lord:

Luke 21:34 — But take heed to yourselves lest perhaps your hearts be weighed down with debauchery and drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day come upon you suddenly as a snare. 36 But be watchful at every time, beseeching that you would prevail to escape all these things which are about to happen and stand before the Son of Man.

Registration for the Semiannual Winter Training The deadline for the Winter Training is the 7th of December. May the Lord release the saints to register and participate in the training so that many brothers and sisters would be trained under the ministry of the age to cooperate with Him in these last days.

Response to the Thanksgiving Conference Thank the Lord for opening His Word and revealing His heart’s desire to us. Please pray that the spoken word in the Thanksgiving Conference will penetrate deeply into the hearts of all the saints and impart a vision of the all-inclusive, extensive Christ so that we can experience Him as our life and as the constituent of our entire being to live Him instead of our culture for the appearing of the one new man on the earth in a practical way.
